Drookit Dogs Album launch
@ Fletch at St Andrews
4th May 6-7pm
£10 age res 15+
Fresh, incisive local indie band the Drookit Dogs are a summertime festival favourite.
The group consists of Tom Edwards (drums) Matt Oldfield, (vocals/guitar), Matt White (bass/vocals) and John (Banjo). Working hard for their art, the boys have put together their new album Call the Guards and we’re invited to the launch party at brand shiny new venue, Fletch at St Andrews for a taster of their new sounds.
Drookit Dogs are also supporting The Levellers this year in the Spiegeltent and will be at the Beachdown 2009 festival, so you have no excuse to miss them.

Los Albertos @ The Brunswick
15th May 8pm-11pm
£6 age res 18+
Los Albertos have created quite a following amongst dance floors across Europe and festivals alike.
Describing themselves as a ‘foot-stompin’, brass-blarin’, and rip snortin’ high energy blend of ska, punk, funk, dub and original beats’, six-piece Los Albertos consistently fire out a rare blend of high-octane bouncy music to wiggle your hips to, accompanied with a typically random English sense of humour in their lyrics.
Writers of all their own material, Los Albertos like to sing about things like, drinking beer, trips to the dentist, calling in sick to work, ridiculous governments and nice men from next door – trust me, these lyrics are all guaranteed to have you singing in your shower the next morning and possibly on the bus on the way to work.
Spreading their happy vibes with a mixture of horn-driven ska, drum and bass, and swing, it’ll be a carefree night that’s all about having fun – just make sure you’ve got your dancing shoes on, the music will control your feet!
